Quilting on the Road

I don’t think I showed the Cheddar & Dill octopus for sewing on the binding.

In preparation for “in the car” quilting, I saved hand sewing the C&D binding for our trip. I’ve turned two corners so far 👍🏼.

To mix it up a bit, I brought along a project that’s been in timeout for an extremely long time. I only have a few green hexies left so I will sew one more flower to finish the current row.

I had no idea I was so close to being done. Good thing there are more projects in my quilting bag 😉. When I get home I’ll pick a fabric to appliqué the hexie top to and then figure out what I’ll do for quilting.

Happy trails, Cherie

  1. That is a lot of quilt to bind in the space you have at your machine! You are lucky to be able to sew in the car. I needed to finish hand stitching the binding on for quilt on the way to a concert. The quilt was for the performer. I was so car sick. I did get it done and after just relaxing for a while, the nausea and head spinning did go away.

  3. I wouldn't be able to sew in a moving car. Maybe knitting would go OK.

  4. I cannot read or stitch in the car - I envy those of you who can. And your stitches are so even!
