I had a talk with myself about my avoidance sewing. I agreed I couldn’t sew anything else until I sewed the Scrappy Mountain Majesty rows together, lol. And sew I did…..it’s finished and I’m linking up with Alycia’s Finished (or not) Friday. In the end, I made it square at 61” x 61”.
I also spent a bit of time looking for a backing for it. What do you think of this Jane Sassaman from Jane’s Magic Forest? Too dark? I love the big fern fronds.
Happy Friday, Cherie

Mountain Majesty is truly majestic, Cherie. I think the Jane Sassaman fabric is great for it. Friendship Star blocks are perfect for a leader ender project. Hope you have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteI keep telling myself I will make that first quilt you show and haven't gotten around to it.
ReplyDeleteI think the Jane Sassaman fabric is perfect for the backing.
ReplyDeleteI have things I avoid in quilting, too - sewing long rows together is a good example. So - way to go getting your Scrappy Mountains together! It's beautiful!
ReplyDeleteOh but your mountains are shining like the sun setting on them, so beautiful!! That looks like a great backing fabric for it.
ReplyDeleteThe Jane fabric would be perfect for the back. Love the stamps! I didn't know the PO was issuing those.
ReplyDeleteThat is a great quilt - so glad you talked yourself into finishing it. love the back - its so bold - yet the colors really make it!!
ReplyDeleteWho doesn't love leaf peeping for fall foliage? That's exactly where my mind went when I saw this quilt top. LOVE it, Cherie, and the Jane fabric will look great on the back!
ReplyDeleteOkay came here from your later FONF post to see the evolution of the FS project: wow you're going for a king-size quilt -- Sweet! Love that Sassaman fabric for the backing! Thanks for the reminder on the Powers stamps. I had heard they were released but haven't gone to get some. Need to do so before they are gone.
